November is a month to show gratitude for all those who make a difference. At Surgical Solutions, we’re thankful every day for the dedication of our frontline teams, the people who keep surgical services running smoothly and safely in our partner hospitals.
This month, we’re especially proud to celebrate one of our best: Brandon Epperson, Account Supervisor at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Brandon’s list of accomplishments is impressive, and his most recent recognition speaks volumes: he was honored with the Surgical Solutions Star Award, recognizing the best of the best within our company.
Brandon leads with humility and heart. He supervises a fantastic group of technicians who work tirelessly to ensure every surgical instrument and tray is clean, inspected, and ready when the OR needs it most.
“We help make sure the needs of the OR are met, as well as being a great source of information for the hospital staff,” Brandon says.
Brandon’s path into the field started with a love of technology. He studied computer networking, programming, and repair in college, but his true calling emerged in healthcare. What keeps him motivated is the sense of purpose behind every case:
“When someone goes back for surgery, they put their lives in the hands of those in the OR. I wanted to be someone who could be relied upon to help the team reach the desired outcome of the surgery.”

His leadership and compassion haven’t gone unnoticed. During a recent Quarterly Business Review with healthcare leaders at his home hospital, the OR Director at Lake Cumberland informed Surgical Solutions leaders that Brandon was so critical to the team that he could never be relocated within the system. That’s a powerful testament to the impact Brandon has on his team and hospital partners.
He’s also made an impression beyond his own facility. A clinical educator at a local college mentioned Brandon in a TikTok video, crediting him as the inspiration behind his own career in surgical technology.
When asked about his proudest moments, Brandon doesn’t talk about himself. He talks about his team.
“My proudest moments are when I hear a tech, nurse, or surgeon brag about how great my team members are,” he says. “And seeing people I’ve trained reach new heights within the company. That’s what makes me proud.”

Outside of work, Brandon is a Tolkien fan and jokes that his team’s behind-the-scenes dedication reminds him of the unseen heroes in The Lord of the Rings. The rare working quietly but faithfully to protect others and keep things running smoothly.
Brandon is certainly one of the best at Surgical Solutions. We’re proud of how he has helped our partner hospital become more efficient, keeping surgeries on time and safe, with improved patient outcomes always top of mind—because that’s the goal that matters most.
